Recorded over a series of several months in two different studios with two different talented producers in Indianapolis and Fortville, Indiana, Precedence reflects the band's growth and development over the past two years.
With varying instrumentation throughout the album, the album sounds jazzy and bluesy in somber dark numbers like Lead Me On and Parting Waltz in F#minor, and then hopeful and light in others like Car Song and Roam.
Dear Lincoln hopes to set a precedent with their debut album: folk cannot be tamed.
